Healing Your Inner Child

Inner child therapy focuses on healing our inner child's wounded or neglected aspects. Each of us has an internal representation of ourselves as a child that carries our unmet emotional needs, fears, and desires from childhood. We seek to reconnect with this inner child and help us identify and heal any unresolved emotional pain or trauma that may be impacting our adult life. This therapy involves various techniques to help us connect with our inner child and provide us with the nurture and support we may have lacked as a child. It helps us overcome emotional pain and develop greater self-awareness, self-love, and emotional resilience.

You Are Not Alone

We emerged as curious, playful, vulnerable and emotionally sensitive beings. Then an aspect of our personality began to take shape in response to positive and negative events and experiences. Regardless of age, our inner child journeys with us through life; they have been present since the beginning. They are there when we go on a quest to find love or social groups to belong to, and they are there when we feel betrayed when we are hurt, ignored or lied to. The inner child needs healing when the external world is triggering. We often experience fear, doubt, low self-worth, and the need to escape, sometimes even from ourselves. These are all ways that our inner child attempts to feel safe. Choosing behaviours, choices and thoughts based on subconscious beliefs or memories from the past.

With You Every Step of the Way

Exploring this part of ourselves takes us on a journey of self-discovery, allowing us to understand and change the coping mechanisms holding us back. Coping mechanisms can include numbing feelings, being avoidant, defensiveness, impulsive spending, and self-destructive behaviours that could cause us or others harm. It's not just those who have experienced significant childhood traumas alone who can benefit from inner child therapy. We ALL have an inner child within to nurture. Seemingly small things like dismissive comments made by family or classmates or feeling misunderstood as a child are things we can spend

time healing.

Connecting with the inner child helps us work through deeply rooted emotions that have been suppressed. Giving that part of ourselves the time and energy to fully express those emotions in a safe environment, to be heard, loved, and supported. With hypnotherapy, we can work with the inner child safely and effectively to heal traumas, profoundly enhance mental

well-being, and enhance feelings of self-love, self-esteem, happiness, and confidence. Allowing you to move forward

with ease and reach your true potential.

Tender your inner child as you tender a garden. When our inner child feels neglected and unloved, as adults, we feel insecure, forgotten, and draped in darkness, seeing our zest for life wither. But when our inner child feels loved and nurtured, we show our beauty by leaning towards the sunlight, securing our roots, and drinking up all life has to offer, and we grow and flourish as confident individuals.

How do you know if your inner child needs healing?

The inner child influences our lives and can create anxiety and self-sabotaging behaviours, usually due to unresolved trauma or not having certain needs met as a child. We become self-critical, have constant feelings of not being good enough, hold onto feelings of shame and form unhelpful beliefs about ourselves that affect us in our adult life. We live in a state of fear that can create anxiety, depression, and brain fog, affecting our learning ability and can create other debilitating mental illnesses. Our inner child is trying to let us know that something needs to surface and be resolved. Once you clear these unresolved feelings, you can uncover your true self, get in touch with who you truly are, and experience self-love, self-acceptance, and self-confidence.

You may benefit from inner child healing if you...

Have feelings of shame and guilt, or not feeling good enough

Feel the need to escape, possibly even yourself

Are triggered by the external world. Specific people, things they say, or certain situations

Have an incessant flow of negative self-talk and are unable to love and accept yourself.

Constantly second-guess yourself and your feelings, usually needing reassurance from others.

Overwork and have a feeling of needing to achieve (to get approval or belonging).

Feel rigid and are always trying to be "perfect" (cannot handle failure).

Have difficulty noticing and celebrating "wins" in life (no win will ever be enough).

Constantly self-sabotage and show obsessive/addictive behaviours.

People please

Have chronic anxiety and fear

Feel disconnected from yourself and others

Notice a lot of unhealthy relationship patterns

Feel uncomfortable with being loved and avoid relationships/love

Feel that you are holding onto emotions from childhood experiences

Ready to change your life?

Hypnotherapy enables you to reach a very natural state of relaxation; and opens up your subconscious to positive changes.

This is where we will get to the core of any problem and finally allow ourselves to break negative cycles and feel calm and confident again. The goal of inner child therapy is to help us reconnect with our inner child and identify and heal any unresolved emotional issues from their past.

This therapy can be helpful in various ways.

  1. Self-awareness: Inner child therapy can help us become more aware of our emotions, behaviour patterns, and thought processes. This awareness can help us identify and address any negative patterns that are holding us back.

  2. Healing past trauma: Inner child therapy can be particularly useful for anyone who has experienced childhood trauma. By exploring and acknowledging the trauma, we can start the process of healing and letting go of any negative emotions associated with it.

  3. Improved relationships: Inner child therapy can also help us improve our relationships with others. By addressing unresolved emotional issues from childhood, we can develop more effective communication skills, increase our emotional intelligence, and learn to set healthy boundaries.

  4. Increased self-esteem: By reconnecting with our inner child, we can learn to love and accept ourselves as we are. This can lead to increased self-esteem and a much more positive self-image.

One of the most important things I have learned is that our interpretations of our life experiences influence our reality. By changing our emotions, thoughts, and beliefs, we can take control of our future experiences and fundamentally alter every facet of our lives for the better. I strive to help people boost their self-esteem, ease anxiety and depression, and help them reconnect with their true selves. My aim for our work together is to empower you and reconnect you to your natural source of happiness, balance, and joy.

I am continuously inspired by the development of the people I meet and am privileged to be a part of their journeys. I invite you to take the next step on your journey with me and experience true transformation.

I look forward to meeting you!
